Frequently asked questions regarding our nixie tube clock enclosure cases;
What tools do I need to install your enclosures?
Just one small phillips screwdriver. All other necessary hardware parts are provided.
Do I need to solder or make modifications to either the enclosure or the clock kits?
Not at all, our enclosures will fit the standard clock kits without any modifications at all. No soldering, cutting, drilling, glueing, or hacking needed. They are really simple to fit.
Are the nixie tubes and electronics (clock kit) included?
No, they are not included, we only provide the enclosure to house them. You can buy the clock kits direct from the manufacturers. Brand new (old stock) nixie tubes can be purchased in our shop. Sold in sets of 6, they are all tested and matched by physical parameters for a visually perfect clock.

My Tubehobby IN-14 clock has indicator bulbs, can I use the case with no holes for them?
Yes, absolutely! You can just easily desolder or cut off the IN-3 column separators. The clock kit is designed to work with or without them. We may ship your enclosure with or without the IN-3 indicator holes, depending on stock position, please check the updates on our shop page. If you have a specific request, please contact us when you make your order.
My Tubehobby IN-18 clock has indicator bulbs, is there an enclosure with the holes?
No, sorry. Our NXTH-18 enclosures ship without the holes for column separators. The IN-18 clocks look best without the distractive IN-3 bulbs. Furthermore, there just isn't enough space to fit the holes for the IN-3 bulbs proportionately well.Take a look and see why.
I have a "thin design" Tubehobby NCV2.1 clock using 15mm spacers, can the case fit?
Yes, our enclosures fit clock kits with standard 20mm or the optional 15mm "thin design" spacers.
Are you affliated with these nixie clock kit manufacturers?
Not at all, we just make the enclosures that fit their kits. And we really think that they've done a fantastic job bringing these wonderful clocks within everyone's reach.
I don't have any equiptment or soldering skills. Can I just buy a complete clock?
Although building the clock kit is quite easy and fun, we do understand and are able to provide complete clocks. Please contact us and we will quote you for a complete ready to use nixie clock in the enclosure of your choice.
My enclosure has some very slight marks and a small edge overlap, it's not perfect!?
This is considered normal and is consistent with all crafted products. Your enclosure is not a mass produced item churned out by the thousands from a perfect mold. We make each and every enclosure individually. The parts are laser or hand cut and then carefully assembled by hand. Although we strive for perfection, there may be some small blemishes if you were to examine them very very closely.
Your enclosures are beautifully reflective and shiny! How do I keep them clean?
Just occasionally wipe them using "Microfiber" cloth. To prevent scratches, do not use any other material. Our enclosures are highly polished and treated with an antistatic and dust repellent finish, light dust can just be blown off.
It's so extremely shiney, what material are your enclosures made from?
Our current line of enclosures are made from pigmented polished thermoplastic, a hard, rigid, glass like material with good weather resistance and often used in casting, thermoforming and fabricating. Your car's lens clusters are probably made from the same material. The chemical name is PMMA - Polymethyl methacrylate.
Where are your enclosures made? Are they made in China?
Unlike most things today, we are happy to say that they are not made in China. All our enclosures are proudly made in Taiwan.
What is the purpose of all this?
We understand not everyone has the time or inclination to build a nixie clock or make an enclosure. So that's where we come in, now you can get an enclosure that's designed to fit your kit perfectly. Or have us provide a complete ready built clock that just works out of the box.
